Handy & Harman of Canada, Limited has been granted a license by the Minister of Finance to melt and recycle Canadian silver coins at its Canadian refinery and alloy production facility in Toronto.
Handy & Harman is a Canadian refiner and fabricator of precious metals. For the first time a Canadian refiner has sought and been granted a license by the Minister of Finance to re-cycle Canadian silver coins IN CANADA. In the past, Canadian coin dealers were often obliged to send Canadian coins to dealers or processors in the USA, paying freight, insurance and brokerage expenses, in order to recover the silver value.
Canadian coin dealers may now deliver Canadian coins to Handy & Harman of Canada for recovery of silver value HERE IN CANADA. In addition, H&H will be re-cycling the silver and copper content into new silver-copper alloys at its plant in Toronto.
To the Canadian coin dealer this means:
Handy & Harman is one of the oldest and most respected refiners in North America, founded in New York in 1867 and here in Canada since 1936.
